The operations, the purpose, and the ministry
Since 1984, Youth-Reach Houston has operated full-service, Christ-focused residential programs in northeast Houston designed to remold the values and turn around the lives of at-risk, troubled and delinquent boys ages 12 to 17. Youth-Reach Houston is licensed by The State of Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to operate a Group Residential Operation for juvenile males. Youth-Reach Houston is a non-profit organization with a 501(c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service.
Youth-Reach Houston is a member of The Evangelical Counsel for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and adheres to their strict financial accounting guidelines. The program was founded in 1984 by current Executive Director Curt Williams, who describes Youth-Reach as “a hospital for today’s damaged and discarded youth.” Set in a structure of a balanced family and home life, Youth-Reach Houston concentrates on developing character, responsibility and a strong work ethic. Facilitated by screened, experienced and respected staff members, Youth-Reach Houston is a long-term program intended to heal past wounds and restore families.
